Our COVID World :(

Our COVID World

It seems as though 2020 has so far brought us continuous bad news, the most unexpected of all being the COVID-19. If only we prepared earlier, it wouldn’t feel so bad, but regardless, it is what it is. We need to all put our heads together and adjust to the current  regulations of our City, County, State, & Country, which has its perks.

Here are some quick updates to help you navigate your family, more details to come:

-Los Angeles & Orange County: most areas are excused from rent by law for the time being, but you must talk to your landlord in advance & make it up before June-ish. Social Distancing order is in effect at least through April 30th.  Non -Essential Businesses must remain closed. Masks are required if you are leaving your home for any reason. The reason you are not allowed to leave home is because you COULD have the virus but show no symptoms & and accidentially infect someone else. You may eaily recover, but the other person might now. This is the reason we are on lockdown 🙁

-Groceries: TRY TO AVOID GOING. There are tons of grocery delivery apps, not to mention stores that do direct deliveries, like Walmart. Try out some delivery apps like Amazon Fresh, Instacart, Shipt, Thrive. Target, Pavilions, and Vons even offer delivery or parking lot pickup and you don’t even have to leave your car. Check it out!

– Bills: Simply call all your utility, credit card, loan, or any other company you make payments to & let them know you’re having a hard time (if you are). They WILL make payment arrangements for you, as long as you’ve had a good record with them this far. Rent / Mortgage payments as well.

-Unemployment: If you are unemployed because of COVID-19- you WILL get approved for unemployment. This includes business owners under LLC, self employed, gig workers, temp workers, part time workers, etc. Everyone is getting approved as ong as you don’t cheat the system. If you cheat, you may receive a payment that you will have to pay back at any time. Upon approval for State funding, you will receive an additional $600/week from the federal govt. Submit everything electronically, otherwise this process will take forever. Typically should take about 2 weeks before you are fully approved & received a debit card in the mail. For additional info create an account on Skip using this link: https://bit.ly/2RX6KAG

– Business Owners: If you applied for the EIDL loan, you can check you status on Skip after registering on this link: https://bit.ly/2RX6KAG. Your EIDL money will likely take a few more weeks. (Just FYI, I also applied on the first day of the streamlined application & still have not received funds). If you have not applied, stay up to date here to find out when you can: https://bit.ly/3cLccP9. Those of you who have not alreay applied for the PPP through Lendio, apply here: https://bit.ly/2yAewJF. Lendio streamlines the process & finds lenders for you.

Hope this helps! More in-depth convos coming soon! If you have any questions, requests, or concerns please drop a comment below. By the way, Im not a Cerified Professional in these matters, this is just what I went through & what I’ve been following in the news.
